Because a subject line is similar to a first impression, you want it to portray your business in the best possible light. You want to convey legitimacy, professionalism and confidence in your company’s offerings.
Here are some things you should (and should not) do when crafting professional subject lines.
- Keep it short and sweet. Use no more than nine words or 60 characters for best results.
- Avoid using the word “newsletter” in your subject line. People think of newsletters as long and boring.
- Never shout in a subject line. That means don’t use all caps, which is digital yelling.
